A tractor is a self-propelled agricultural power machinery that needs to be matched with various farm implements to complete the corresponding operations. Therefore, agricultural machinery operating units should reasonably select matching farm implements for tractors to give full play to the role of tractors.

The operating principle of a tractor
Driving is achieved through the power of the internal combustion engine, transmitted through the transmission system to provide the drive wheels with a driving torque Mk. The drive wheels, through the tire tread and tire surface, then exert a small, backward horizontal force (tangential force) on the ground. The ground, in turn, exerts an equal and opposite horizontal reaction force Pk on the drive wheels. This reaction force Pk is the driving force (also known as the propulsive force) that moves the tractor forward.

Factors Affecting Tractor Operation
Rolling resistance. The rolling resistance of a tractor is mainly caused by the deformation of tires and soil. Under the weight of the tractor, the tires are flattened and the soil is compacted.
